Pinto Bean Burgers
*Serves 1*
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup pinto beans or black beans, if preferred (best if no salt is added, otherwise rinse well before using)
- 1 tbsp whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- minced spinach, onion, and red pepper (about 1/2 tbsp each)
- sprinkle of dill, red pepper flakes, black pepper
- 1/2 tsp water
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Using a fork, mash everything together until you get something that looks like this.

Form a patty with the mashed ingredients using your hands. Put the patty onto a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

Let sit for 3-5 minutes or until slightly browned. You should be able to shake the patty loose on the skillet when each side is done. Using a spatula, flip the burger over and let sit for another 3-4 minutes or until slightly browned. Place the patty onto a toasted, whole wheat bun and top with your favorite dressings. Personally, I just like a little ketchup and mustard, but play around with your tastes!
